From Ritual to Relationship

The miracle at Cana was much deeper than Jesus displaying His power by turning water to wine. Through the waterpots used for ceremonial cleansing, Jesus revealed that He came to replace empty religious ritual with the fullness of true life and joy that is found in Him. This first sign in John's Gospel points beyond the miracle itself to the glory of Christ Jesus, showing how only Jesus can truly cleanse, satisfy, and transform the human heart.
